About this object
The round clock face, rimmed in gilt bronze, is set in an octagonal frame in white biscuit which in turn is set within a square. The resulting small triangular corners, contain in each a metal plaque with a star. The case is topped by a female classical figure in white biscuit, seated on a blue plinth, on the front of which is applied a fountain with a lion mask and a shell-like basin. On each side on a curved ledge, is a small urn in gilt bronze. Below these are floral swags in high relief in white biscuit on blue. The rectangular base has on the front a plaque in gilt metal in low relief with a basin and two doves in the center, flanked by palmette. Four round feet in ridged gilt bronze.
