About this object
The face of the watch is set with crystal. The small dial is made in white enamel with the Arabic numerals in black. The rest of the face is enameled dark blue. Against this blue are figures carved in four color gold. To the left is a young woman in classical garb and to the right a young man dressed as a Roman soldier. Both hold a mallet and each strikes a bell above the dial. Below the dial is a Cupid in a landscape with a basket of fruit carved in gold. He also holds a mallet and is striking a bell.
