About this object
Scrolls and swags of leaves are etched on glass in Louis XVI manner. Holder has an elaborate pattern of filifgree enamel in blue, a paler blue, white, green, red and turquoise on a stippled gold ground. C shaped handle in gilt has at top a woman's head. Four ball feet are in gilt with an all over pattern imitating the weave of cloth.
