About this object
The box is rectangular with a ground in white enamel with raised white scrolls on the cover and lattice with dots on the sides. On the cover and each of the four sides have each a finely painted landscape with rococo frames raised and gilt of scrolls and flowers. On the cover-a landscape with a river and fishermen, a village in the background and farms in the distance and trees at the left. On the front side- a landscape with two men under a tree at the right, a stream separating them from a farm building at the left. On the right side- a landscape with a cliff at the right, a river at the left, and a shepherd with sheep and cattle on the foreground. On the back- a landscape with a stream and trees, and a bridge to the left, and various figures and a sheep in the center. On the right side- a landscape with several pairs of figures strolling near a bridge with a cross, and a column at the left. Bottom and interior are white. Fine gilt metal mounts.
