The badge is shaped like a shield with a crown at the top. The shield is enameled red in the center and has a blue border. In the center of the red enamel is an oval medallion containing a half-length figure of King William I below which are two lions walking to the left. In the blue border are the dates 1066 and 1087. A pin is attached to the back.
