About this object
The oval base of the frame is made from mottled marble. The lower edge of the base in made from ormolu with an acanthus motif. The ormolu holder for the miniatures has leaf motifs rising to two sides. The frame is designed to have two miniatures suspended. One is of Caroline Lathrop Post and other of Charles Rollin Post. Both are shown in old age. The miniatures are oval in shape with a circle at the top for suspension.
