About this object
Decanter has bulbous body, a round foot and a long neck with stopper. On two sides are ovoid medallions with views of the Kremlin walls and buildings in niello on a silver ground. On two other sides are smaller medallions with inscriptions in Russian engraved on a gilded ground. Background has an all ovber vine scroll in niello on a stippled gilt ground. Foot is gilded. Neck has three gilded bands and two bands with nielloed all over vine scrolls on a gilt ground. Stopper has a globe at top and is gilded.
