About this object

On the obverse is a bust of Catherine II facing to the right and signed in Russian "P. Lialin." Around the border runs the inscription in Russian "By God's grace, Catherine II, Empress and Autocrat of all Russia." On the reverse is a female personification holding the caduceus in her left hand and a wreath in her extended right hand. She is seated on sheaves of wheat. Lying beside her is a sickle. In the distance a man is seen with oxen plowing. Across the top is the inscription, in Russian "Reward for Labor."
