About this object

Cake basket is lobed at the bottom of the basket. It has a chased border with urns at each corner and leaves raised above a stippled ground. The handle has a raised palmette design along both sides. The basket is fastened by two screws to a base with a row of repoussé ridges between a plain foot and a plain stem. Interior of basket and handle are gilded.
