About this object
The decoration is engraved for the most part. On the front of the bowl are three elaborately framed cartouches, one with Christ blessing, at the left the Virgin, and at the right, St. John the Baptist. On the back of the bowl is a cartouche with the symbols of the Passion of our Lord. Around the lip is engraved an inscription from the Mass. The stem has one large lobed knob. The spreading base has six medallions framed with leaves, each with a scene of the Passion of our Lord.
