About this object

The lip is engraved with a leaf scroll. Around the upper part are three oval medallions in repousse, 1. a woman in a seashell drawn by dolphins; 2. a woman seated at the left with a man and Cupid by a tree; 3. a woman in a chariot drawn by a man. Around the lower part there are three groups of three dancing women each, the groups separated by a Cupid seated and playing a lyre.
