About this object
The lip is engraved with a scroll design. Around the upper part are three medallions with scenes in repoussé, 1. a woman in a seashell drawn by dolphins; 2. a seated woman with Cupid blowing a fire; 3. a woman in a chariot drawn by a young man. About the base in silver are dancing women in groups of three with a seated Cupid playing on a harp, separating the groups of dancers. The handle ends in a helmeted head.
