About this object
The top of the lid is in openwork in a symmetrical design of leaf scrolls with tooled details and is edged by a narrow band of stylized flowers and leaves. A similar band surrounds the sides of the lid and another edges the bottom of the box. The remaining sides of the box are covered with fine tooled wavy lines simulating vertical folds of cloth. There are also punched dots in a regular pattern.
