About this object
The yellow gold box is ribbed on all sides with one wide rib alternating with three small ones. On the lid is an unsigned miniature portrait of the Emperor Nicholas II, wearing a uniformof the Life-Guard Hussar regiment, the one he wore on his wedding (addition to the box). The miniature has a frame of rose cut diamonds with a Russian Imperial crown above, also in diamonds. The thumbpiece is set with diamonds. Box and thumbpiece are most likley West European while the framed miniature portrait is Russian.
