About this object

The opening for the photograph is an oval of seed pearls. Outside the oval, the frame is enameled in translucent white engraved engine turned waves. Above the oval and against the enamel is a basket of flowers in tiny diamonds and rubies supported by a bowknot carved in gold and set with a cabochon ruby. Narrow outer edge has leaves carved in green gold against red gold. Malcolm Rae painted the miniature of Dina Merrill Hartley (Nedenia Marjorie Hutton) as a young girl from a photograph (11.68.2).
