About this object

Upper part is shaped like a T with a cross bar curved to fit the hand and carved from a single piece of jade. Lower part, the collar for fitting over the cane, is in gold, enamel. Around the upper and lower edge of the collar is a border of tiny diamonds. Next is a border composed of green leaves with red ribbons in enamel and small diamonds, same decoration used to divide the central portion into four rectangles. In center of each of these rectangles is a lozenge, posed on end, and bordered in diamonds. In center, the lozenge is enameled white on a background engraved with a sunburst design with a small ruby for the center. Within the translucent white enamel is a leaf design as in moss agate. Four corners of the large rectangle have each a triangle bordered in white enamel and centering a leaf in green enamel.
