About this object

The hinged box is kidney shaped. On the cover is a spaniel in painted enamel. This is framed by pearls. The bottom is edged by a band of abstract motifs, and within are overall hazy diamond shapes on a dark blue ground. Inside the box is a second cover in gold floral openwork indicating the box is a vinaigrette.
