People & Culture Administrator

Like many organizations, Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens has spent the past few years pivoting to meet many new challenges. Our People & Culture team has been on the forefront of strategic interventions designed to remove workplace stressors and deepen staff engagement while supporting a hybrid work environment. Continuing this deep support of staff means adding the new role of People & Culture Administrator. The People & Culture Administrator will have exposure to numerous HR disciplines such as talent acquisition, payroll compliance, benefits, and, employee experience, with the opportunity for further learning in the HR field.

The People & Culture Administrator will support recruitment activities and provide administrative, payroll & benefit support, while working autonomously and escalating issues when appropriate. Along with the Head of Payroll & Benefits and the Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Administrator supports staff by helping to ensure a consistent, fair, positive and equitable workplace for all. This role coordinates many functions such as recruitment, onboarding, personnel actions, and provides support in a variety on ongoing culture initiatives and people services.

The People & Culture Administrator brings knowledge and interest in talent acquisition, compliance, or benefits along with a commitment to personal growth and curiosity. They’ve worked in an office environment long enough to know how to access resources on SharePoint, communicate effectively in Teams and schedule meetings via Outlook and Zoom. They know how to make themselves approachable, listen empathetically and act with a service mindset. They know the essential HR skill of being exact in oral and written communication skills and have the ability to handle confidential/sensitive information in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Their past work experience has given them knowledge and understanding of HRIS systems; knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and strong attention to detail. This role is perfect for a recruiter or HR Assistant looking to develop into a generalist role, someone with a HR degree or HR certification or who has worked for at least 2 years in a human resources setting.

    •  Employee contribution rates for medical plans are based on the coverage level selected at the employee’s base annualized salary. Essentially, those with higher salaries pay more for their medical coverage. The maximum employee contribution is $170 per biweekly payroll, most employees pay much less for medical insurance.
  • Retirement Savings Plan.  Hillwood matches up to 3% with a discretionary match (up to 2% or more). The Hillwood contribution is 100% vested upon reaching three years of service.
