From Palm Beach to Shangri-La: The Architecture of Marion Sims Wyeth with Jane S. Day

This is the third program in the Great Homes and Gardens livestream lecture series.

Book cover From Palm Beach to Shangri La: The Architecture of Marion Sims WyethBeautiful homes and gardens in paradise by the great architect Marion Sims Wyeth—progenitor of the fabled Palm Beach style and designer of Marjorie Merriweather Post’s first Palm Beach home Hogarcito and Doris Duke’s legendary Hawaiian retreat, Shangri La—are featured by historian and preservationist Jane Day in the first in-depth book to consider Wyeth’s most alluring creations. Beauty and elegance mingle with extravagance in designs that take the standard fixtures of paradise and mix them with a dash of the exotic.

From Palm Beach to Shangri La: The Architecture of Marion Sims Wyeth is available in the museum shop.
