About this object

The figurine is carved from lavender jade which has many streaks of green in it. The crested male bird is perched on a tree stump. He has a long tail which extends across the piece. At his feet is a smaller female bird which has no crest and a shorter tail. The female bird lokks up at the larger bird. They stand on a piece of a tree which has gnarled wood and several leaves attached to it.
