About this object
The figurine is carved from lavender jade which is a very dark colored amethyst in places. The maiden wears a dress with swirling draperies and sleeves. In her right hand she holds a branch with leaves and fruit which extends across the back of her head and down her left side. In her left hand she holds another branch downwards. Her hair is in a topknot. The wooden base is poorly carved with a meander and with openwork.
