About this object
This large snuffbottle is made in turquoise. The bottle has the shape of a round jar or melon shaped bottle. It has many playing children carved in very high relief. The children stand on each other to climb over the jar. Some of the children form the bottom row and support those above them. They stand on one foot and extend their arms as if catching a ball or balancing. Some pose as if they are acrobats. On the cover are two children who huddle together and turn their faces upwards.
