About this object

This long sleeved day dress of gray waffle crêpe is asymmetrically trimmed with a darker gray and cream colored satin. Large bias cut, triangular insets extend from the right shoulder to left waist. The dress closes at the left shoulder with one large shell button. The two toned trim is repeated on the sleeves where cream colored satin godets are placed at the elbows and close at the wrists in a narrow cuff shape with three covered buttons and thread loops. A gray triangular overlay is accented with a shell button. The narrow skirt is increased at front by two inset godets of the same waffle crêpe for ease of walking. Vertical bands of cream and gray satin are applied to the left side of the skirt. The garment is worn with a flat crêpe belt backed with gray satin and finishing in a flat bow at left side waist.
