About this object

Cream colored satin dressing gown trimmed with lace. Bodice front has a modified princess seam from waist to side seam with small tucks for shaping at bust. An overlapping shawl collar of satin and lace is decorated with flat cutwork trim and edged with flat satin piping. The lace and cutwork are repeated on the wrapped, bell-shaped sleeves. Skirt and bodice are cut in one from side front to hem. Skirt is decorated with lace insets edged with the same flat cutwork trim. The hem is even to floor. The back bodice is cut in one and shaped with small darts at center back neck and across waist. The skirt attaches at waist with a series of small tucks and pleats which are concealed by a shaped peplum. The garment closes on the left front side with a fabric loop and a flat, covered, two holed button where two wide ties, pleated into the side seams, form a large bow.
