About this object

This short fur jacket has a rolled collar and three-quarter length dolman sleeves. The fur is a sable from Canada. Eight tails hang from the hem. Each tail is approximately seven inches long. There are four tails on each side at the underarm seam. A fastener is located midway down the front; it consists of two corded balls approximately three-quarter inches in diameter with black metal snaps. The garment also fastens at the bottom edge with a fur covered button and fabric loop. The lining is brown, patterned, silk brocade. The name Marjorie Post is stitched in dark brown thread in the middle of the right front lining.
