About this object

This summer dress and matching short jacket are both made in a Liberty cotton-silk with a small blue and gray floral print on a white ground. The dress has a fitted bodice and full skirt. A wide, round neckline is created by a shaped band of white organza decorated with flat bows of printed fabric and small tabs extending from the dress onto the organza and stitched flat. The short sleeves are also edged with a shaped organza band. A pleated skirt is attached at the natural waistline, where a shaped, fabric covered belt with a covered buckle is worn. The bodice is lined with organza; the skirt is lined with cotton edged with lace at the hem. The dress closes at center back with a metal zipper and two hooks and eyes. The matching jacket has three quarter length sleeves and closes at center front with one 1-1/2" mother-of-pearl button. The garment is trimmed with an organza collar and turned up cuffs. It is fully lined with organza.
