About this object

Full length mint green evening dress with small cap sleeves worn off the shoulder. The garment is composed of a sheer outer dress of three layers of organza and a taffeta underdress. Both are constructed in a princess line with eight gored panels. The bodice also has a boned, strapless linning. Horizontally pleated organza at bust and sleeves contrasts the seven vertically pleated, inset godets in the skirt. The center front bodice, center of sleeves and top of each godet are smocked and studded with rhinestones. The skirt is lined with cream colored taffeta attached to stiffened cotton and organza. Two rows of gathered ruffles finish the lining at hem. The garment closes at center back with a metal zipper.
