About this object

Round white tablecloth edged with a scalloped filet lace border. The center area is executed in cutwork and embroidery with small insets in buttonholed bars. Eight cartouches alternate between needle lace and filet lace. The needle lace cartouches depict a man kneeling before a lady, both in 18th c. dress. The filet lace cartouches show a peasant woman holding a rake with two cherubs at her feet. At center is a round filet inset depicting flying birds.
