About this object

The pillow is square in shape. The embroidery is very elaborate with many kinds of stitches, and is edged with tassels. The back is in a deep yellow velvet. The design shows flowers, and animals in petit point, surrounding a central round medallion with a scene of a woman in a red dress seated in a landscape. Embroidery similar to English Jacobean stumpwork.
