This black and white copy photograph shows Marjorie Merriweather Post in about 1945 wearing a velvet gown with a taffeta or satin underskirt, seated on a sofa in the sun room at Tregaron. Her left arm is resting on the back of the sofa; behind her on that side is a built-in vitrine containing Russian porcelain. Behind her to the right is a tapestry screen. She is wearing a fourn strand pearl necklace, drop earrings that contain diamonds, and a sapphire brooch at the center of the gown's sweetheart neckline.
