About this object

Frame is gilded and carved wood. Back has lyre in openwork which rests on a cross piece carved with gadrooning. At either side is a channeled tapering support with acanthus at the base. Across the top of the back is another strip also carved with gadrooning with a leaf motif at center of the front and a rosette where this frame joins the legs. The legs are in reverse of the sidepieces for the back and all the legs on the four pieces have new tips.
