About this object

The frame of this neoclassical canape is carved with a continuous bull's eye along the frame of the back and the frame of the seat. The arms are carved with acanthus leaves at the elbow and where the arms join the seat frame. Where the legs meet the seat frame there is always a rosette within a square. The tapering legs have a spiral twist.
