About this object

The figurine is a part of an allegorical set known as "French four seasons." It represents Winter and shows a young boy holding on his right shoulder a bundle of brown faggots tied with a rope. He holds it with his left hand over his head. He wears a white short-sleeved jacket and white boots both edged with fur, a white vest and pants with gold flowers. His right knee rests on a trunk-like support behind which are bunches of rust-colored berries and green leaves. The figure stads on a molded rococo base that is highlighted in gold.
