About this object

The cup is unusual in shape, with a ring foot and a bulge at the top. On the front is a rectangular panel painted with a bust of Alexander I, almost full face. He wears a dark blue uniform with a red collar with gold leaves. He wears the blue ribbon and star of the Order of Saint Andrew and various badges. This panel is edged in gold engraved with leaves and flowers. The rest of the cup is painted in a reddish gold lustre. The handle shaped like a bird's wing is gilded.
