The cup is cylindrical. On the front, framed in gold, is a sepia portrait of Alexander I in profile. He wears a uniform and the star of the Order of St. Andrew. He is facing to the left. The portrait is in an eight sided gilt frame. The upper rim of the cup is gilded, as is the interior.
