These ten "Queen's Beasts" were designed for the Coronation of Elizabeth II on June 2, 1953 by Mr. James Woodford, O.B.E. and were set up at the annex at Westminster Abbey. The Lion of England is gold colored, wears the Royal Crown, and bears a shield with the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom.
