About this object

This elongated, elegantly potted baluster vase rises from a short spreading foot to high sloping shoulders to a tall cylindrical flared neck. It is flambé-glazed in langyao (also known as sang-de-bouef or oxblood) with streaks ranging from light crimson to deep raspberry to liver on the exterior and white on the interior. The foot ring is glazed in white with characteristic knife-edge finishing.
