About this object

The statuette represents a young man, possibly a shepherd. He holds open with his left arm the lid of a tan, rectangular, empty wicker basket which rests on a leaf and flower covered pedestal. His right arm points towards the basket. He wears a pale blue coat with pink collar and cuffs over a white vest with purple flowers, yellow pants, white stockings and black shoes. A white dog with reddish brown spots sits at the base of the pedestal. The scrolls on the rococo base are touched with pale blue and dark red.
