About this object

Standing on scrolled feet, the rectangular, bulbous vase have molded handles of acantus design, all in white picked in gold. The front is decorated with a panel painted with exotic birds in a landscape framed with a narrow band of gold tooled with an overlapping disk design. An oval panel on the back is reserved with a gold border tooled with a rope design depicting floral bushes in a landscape setting. The background is composed of a painted field of thin, soft red stripes interrupted by an oeil de pedrix consisting of purple circles with a single dot in the center of each.
