About this object

Folding fan consisting of wooden sticks, pierced below the leaf. The obverse is a white silk leaf, painted blue with cherry blossoms and four pink embroidered silk blossoms. The front of the guards are faced with a thin sheet of mother of pearl. The head of the fan has a white metal pivot and loop. From the loop is an orange silk corn with two orange and red tassels. The reverse of the fan is unadorned but front image can be seen through.
