About this object

Folded leaf consisting of wooden sticks and guards painted black with yellow flowers and lacquered on the obverse and left natural on the reverse and at the head of the fan. Many of the sticks also feature cut outs near the top. Above the sticks is a narrow black cotton leaf painted with white flowers on the obverse and left blank on the reverse. The pivot at the head of the fan is a small piece of metal bent over on itself to act as a stop.
