About this object

Corset Cover / Chemisette of cream silk net with a band of elastic in the bottom hem of the cover. The Chemisette had a center panel of net in slightly darker shade. Below the figure and extended upward on either side are embroidered flowers, leaves, and vines of cotton floss, a small pink rose, a large pink rose, and green leaves. To the left and right of the panel are 1 ¼” vertical bands of net with horizontal pleats of netting in groups of seven. A band of netting runs horizontally along the top of the panel to which the silk flowers and ribbon are attached, and features vertical pleats of netting in groups of seven. Both above and below the panel are strips of tan lace with a floral motif. Two ½” blue silk ribbon straps are at top.
