About this object

A red straw hat decorated with synthetic silk fringe surrounding the edge of the brim. The hat form is made of linked rows of flat straw braid with a 2.25” brim and round crown with a flat top standing 2.5”H. The crown is surrounded with a twisted band of red silk synthetic jute meeting in the center back and forming a 4.5” tassel. The edge is finished with an open synthetic jute fringe 2”W, overhanging the edge 1.5”. The hat is fully lined in matching red, slubbed silk with attached 26”L x 2”W ties sewn into the lining at either side of the hat, finished on a slightly rounded angle
