About this object

The short white veil was worn by Nedina at the wedding of Mrs. Post and Joseph Davies. It is ornamented with a tiara style top which develops over a metal frame with nine (9) points and is covered in a flame point, machine-made lace, cut and pieced to follow the points of the wire frame, finished in a 1” band in a leaf motif of two rows of pearls with a center line of five rhinestones each, set in black metal prongs. Each leaf is approximately 1” long and 3/8” wide, alternating slightly right the left in a single row facing the center. The veil is a double layer of tulle cut in half circles and attached under the lace. The tulle is weighted with a heavy black thread woven through the tulle at the cut edge. The headpiece is held with a thin elastic cord.
