About this object

Deep pill box shape, in thick pile with a swirled nap. The front and sides are ornamented with flocked raspberries, figs and leaves in matching red color, There is a 4.5” gap in the decoration across the back, with a .5” sweetheart shape cut in the front of the form. Inside the crown and along the sides, the hat is lined with red-brown taffeta with the maker’s name embroidered in pink threads and a + stitched to indicate the front of the hat. The hat blank is stamped “Selene, body made in Italy”
