About this object

The bracelet’s principal decoration is three circlets of rose-cut diamonds. The central circlet bears the number “30” set in diamonds with a ‘platinum’ setting. Flanking this are two smaller diamond circlets each with a “3” at the center. All three circlets are joined by crescent-shaped ruby inlaid elements. The rubies are table cut. The ruby crescents surrounding the diamond “30” are embellished at the top and bottom with small table-cut ruby elements. Small crescent-shaped ruby-encrusted elements are also attached to the outer edges of the “3” motifs without rubies top and bottom. This decorative element joins a series of graduated reversed S-shaped scrolls with alternating rubies and diamonds. The rubies are set in gold and the diamonds in silver. A hinge at the back of bracelet permits the wearer to open the bracelet. The piece has no marks. Its square box (possibly original) is marked with a label on the underside which reads: “S. Jahn ci devant A. Roempler Magasin de Joaillerie et bijouterie a St. Petersburg.”
