About this object

The background is white with leaves and flowers in raised gold. On the cover is a reserved panel in colors within a gilt scrolled frame. The picture is of two young lovers seated at a table with fruit and drink out of doors in a garden, taken from a 1757 print after "Les Amants", a painting by J.M. Nattier. On each side is a small panel painted in colors. Front- two youths and a young lady fishing, right side- a couple strolling in the country, left side- a young couple seated on a river bank, back- a couple seated on a landscape with shee nearby. On the bottom is a still life with an upturned basket of fruit, two birds and a butterfly. The interior is in white enamel.
