About this object

The stands are shaped like a diamond. These were made to hold porcelain dishes in a table setting (24.16). The upper edge has a series of vertical oval openings with rams heads in the corners. From the edge hang swags of drapery tied with bows. The four legs end in cloven hooves and have an intertwined design along the outside.
