About this object

The base of the frame is made from white marble, which is narrower in the center and wider at the ends. It has a beaded upper edge. The rectangular frame has an openwork decoration of dart shaped leaves with acanthus leaves in the corners. The frame is supported by two youthful water figures with human bodies and fish tails. At the top is a basket of flowers. The miniature portraits show Adelaide on one side and Eleanor on other. Both are in their early teens. Adelaide's hair is long, while Eleanor's is short and has a band around it. Both wear short sleeve dresses with rounded necks. Adelaide's dress is dark in color, while Eleanor's is light colored.
