About this object

The rectangular box with the corners cut off has a silver repoussé panel on the cover with Christ half-length holding the gospels and blessing, with an angel at either side. The border on the cover is in open work filigree enamel of stylized flowers in green, blue and yellow, similar openwork designs being used for the sides. The bottom has an all-over floral design in filigree enamel on a gilt ground.
